Suggestions for romantic week-end needed.

Hi all, the wife and I have a wedding anniversary coming up and I am seeking suggestions from romantic week-end accommodation ideas. We are in Canberra but are willing to travel up to 2.5 hrs for the right spot. B&Bs with big spa baths are a favourite. Any ideas? Thredbo..South Coast NSW???

well.. hop on the plane from Canberra to Melbourne and drive an hour to Chateau Yerring... (total travel time approx 2.5 hrs )

It is in the hub of Yarra Valley with accommodation and dining the absolute best you can find anywhere..

Alternatively head to blue mountains for a weekend at Lilianfels (used to be called Observatory Hotel/ Spa)

Just 40 minutes' drive away (or so) is The Carrington. This used to be a favourite getaway of ours - cough cough - about 12 years ago, before we had kids. They have dinner bed and breakfast packages, and it's a cute little historic town to wander around after breakfast the next day.

My partner and I recently went to Barefoot Springs in Kangaroo Valley www.barefootsprings.com.au They have self contained cottages with spas, bathrobes and log fires. Fantastic. Recommended.
