Currently my home has a tandem carport that uses one side wall of the house and has the front of it bricked with a garage door. Basically if you look at the house from the front it looks like a garage.
But in reality it is missing the side wall on the right which is the fence line and the rear wall which I would like to have another garage door so you can drive through to the backyard if need be.
So basically I need to build 2 walls to enclose the carport.
Will I need a building permit for this in Melbourne for those that know.
Will it increase the value of the home if I did convert the carport into a garage?
I don't think I could fit 2 large cars into it. Would this be something to consider to make sure I can get 2 cars in there as opposed to 1 to increase the value. I know tandem garages are not preferred hence me thinking should I just make it for 1 car or go the extra step and make sure I can fit 2 cars in there no problem. Would probably have to extend the slab by about 1 meter.
Any rough ideas on cost to do this as above?
