In the same way you can check shares and companies in Australia through www.asx.com.au is there a US equivalent where I could research American companies?

http://www.nyse.com/ I just use this site as a start up
into all the sites that link up to this one, they have a Marketrac system in this site
that will give you a idea on everything on any market in the world..
If you look into the market information section you will find the market trac
just put in the company codes and set up a watchlist in what you are interested in .
The US markets are very different to the ASX........good luck willair..

Will be like looking for a needle in a haystack.
What I am researching is Synchotron machines. Aparently there are 43 in the world, and 10 of those are in America. The Victorian government were talking about building one for Australia, but I wonder if they are economically viable.
It would be nice to know what companies in the US control the 10 machines and how their shares are doing. Maybe Australia could get some of the action.
