WA Real Estate Agents

just thinking about this, a REA asking to see the finance letter is a moron, what they should be doing is asking the buyer if the finance they have been offered is acceptable (and please sign this form to say it is). by only asking to see the letter they are taking it upon themselves to see if the finance offer is suitable to the buyer - would never stand up.
 
SA agents have a habit of playing this game aswell. Only a couple that I deal with regularly don't push it, as they tell the conveyancer/solicitor it's 'legit'.

Get client OK to provide the info, and even then I will send a redacted doc with minimal info indicating that approval for finance against the property being purchased.

MFAA released an info report a couple months back stating that the practice of passing on unconditional approvals to agents/vendor solicitors was in breach of privacy laws iirc...
