Brother in Law was very vey close to losing house in Warrandyte,flames burnt down all his fence line..

There is a fast moving grassfire in the Area South of Kilmore (Bylands) area area.
This fire is not yet under control and is expected to impact between the hours of 5pm and 6pm.

Evacuation Information:

If you are located in Bylands, it is strongly recommended that you evacuate and seek shelter .
You should travel to Relief Centres at either Seymour or Wallan via Northern Highway.
Turn on your vehicle headlights and drive slowly; smoke will make it difficult to see.
This advice is current to 10/02/14 5:45 PM, evacuation after this time is considered life threatening.
After 10/02/14 5:45 PM it may be too late to leave, take shelter when the fire arrives - protect yourself from the fire's heat.
Last resort options include a Neighbourhood Safer Place, a stationary car in a cleared area, a ploughed paddock or reserve or body of water like a swimming pool or dam.
If you are away from home; do not return.
If you choose to stay, emergency services may not be able to help you.
