What makes a good settlement agent?

Hi,
I'm looking for a settlement agent for IP in Perth. Since it's been 3-4 yrs since I have bought any property, I'm not sure of the pros and cons of the various settlement agents. Apart from easy access for the signing of documents etc, is there anything else I should look for in a SA?

I used Jan McCaughan of Southwest Conveyancing last year and will be utilising her services again soon. She was always in contact with me and prompt with email or phone updates as they came to hand. Presentation and signing of docs wasn't a problem even though I am 2000kms north of her office!!

I can recommend Jan and her staff to anyone needing conveyancing in WA.

Hi Mitch - definitely someoen that is meticulous and organised. we use elaine coughlin from ronson mackinlays. she is a little bit more expensive, but i have found (through the hard way) that sometimes paying a bit more is worth less hassle and stress!
