Workers comp

Hi all,
I am wondering how many people include workers comp when concidering insurance needs for thier IPs.
thanks, steve.

Steve

To the best of my knowledge it is a standard inclusion in all householder policies. It's purpose is to cover domestic workers or other people employed around the house.

If you run a business from home, however, then you would need to be registered as an employer and that arrangement would require separate insurance.

Steve...

You can buy a workcover policy to cover ppl who come to or work in your home.

I have just taken one out, which covers the cleaner (from an agency), the gardener, and the babysitter.

It costs $25 and is a 2 year policy.

For that price, why wouldn't you ? :)

Although, that doesn't really answer your question...

Who did you want the insurance to cover?

The only workers going to your IP would, theoretically, be sent by your PM. They would have to be covered by their own insurance, otherwise no PM would use them. The PM themselves will be covered by the estate agency.

asy :D
