I was too thick to work out how to change colour in the chat room until bundy gave step by step instructions very patiently

What program did you use to do the squishing? I'm using Photoshop and the smallest jpg I got was about 6K.

Would you believe MS Paint? (XP version allows saving in different formats).

Go here - http://www.irfanview.com/ to get Irfanview. It's a freebie and doesn't take up much room on the HD. You can set it to play movies and sound as well as handle pics.

You can resize images at Edit-Resize and convert all types of pic files to others under File-Batch Conversion.

So if you have a large .bmp avatar pic you want, just resize it and then convert ot .jpg or gif and hey presto.

It's brilliant!
