A practical example of socialism

I got my education from primary school till uni from China...Based on what I can remember, Communism is not just about equal wealth stuff...It also pays attention to the moral standard that everyone has got a relevant high moral level and you will not be lazy doing your job...Some ideas like you working your *** off during the day and you take every stuff you need and enjoy the time after work without paying anything...that is what I can remember when I was taught in primary and high school back in china...

Not sure it will happen or not..but nice world if it comes eventually.~:D

Great thread....

Reminds me of the 2 cows......

Socialism: You have two cows. The government takes one and gives it to your neighbor.

Communism: You have two cows. You give them to the Government, and the Government then gives you some milk.

Fascism: You have two cows. You give them to the Government, and the Government then sells you some milk.

Capitalism: You have two cows. You sell one and buy a bull.

Naziism: You have two cows. The Government shoots you and takes the cows.

Bureaucracy: You have two cows. You give them to the Government, they shoot one and milk the other then pour the milk down the drain.

That just about sums it up.

Yes, because the socialist countries in Scandanavia are in a much worse financial situation than the US.

Oh. Wait.

I thought the US was socialist.

Oh well, if you must:

USA Capitalism: no cows for anyone

It's only socialist in as much as paying tax = socialist.

I think the problem is the tea baggers don't actually have a clue about the topic and just spout mindless rhetoric.

Weird parables

The fable is a tiny bit off ...

Seems to me it's about trying to depict an extreme form of communism ... not a more centrist socialism - centrist socialism is just a watered down version of capitalism.

If it was really about socialism the students would put the laggards and the nerds together and have them study in a group to ensure every passed with a decent mark - or at least got the best marks they could.

The ragingly independent study method that leads to failure espoused here is pure democratic meritocracy.

:D

Team sports are essentially "socialist", with the same score for everyone. The best football teams are the most socialist. Solidarity, United.

But clearly this doesn't make them fail, so the analogy with the classroom group is way off, groups of people behave differently to achieve a sometimes better result.
