Adding a family room and double garage

Hi everyone,
We want to add a 54sqm (9x6) family / dining room and double garage to our existing house. It is in excellent condition and very good location.
I am seeking advice on how much it can cost. Also it will be very helpful if someone knows about a less expensive builder in Melbourne.

Hi ya your going to be paying about 1,500 m2 thei is the fair going rate give and take others such as kitchens, and bathrooms,
So i would'nt expect much change from 85k.

A minimum double garage would take 6m by 6m =36 Sqm, 18 Sqm doesn't leave much for a family and diningroom, you may want to increase this.

depending on wind ratings and local housing requirements in each state: $900-$1200 sq mtr i would allow....

could be a little more economical than the above figures as its pretty basic stuff.

good luck, shop it around..ask many questions about their previous work and exactly where they were..go knock on a few doors to get feedback if you are still uncertain and go with quality rather than rock bottom prices...

Sorry, 54sqm is the area of family room and dining. garage will be in addition to this.
