Any Real Estate Valuers in the house?

Hi Guys,

Does anyone work as a Real Estate Valuer? I really love property, and think this would be a pretty cool job. Also, I think it would help to really get to know a particular area and find some real bargains

If anyone is a valuer, would you care to share some experiences? i.e the proś and cons of this industry? job demand, howś the pay like?

I am seriously considering a career change.

I work as a Telecom/Network engineer.. but to be honest, I have lost the interest that I used to have for this field. It just doesn´t do anything for me anymore I can´t see myself in this job/field for the next 25 years.

I am much more excited when I think about real estate than 1´s and 0´s.

I feel like I have invested heavily in my education.. but it has brought me disillusionment, not happiness.

maybe I just need a holiday. lol.

By valuer do you mean sales agent, or someone who gives sworn valuations?

A friend's son is a valuer of commercial property - did a Masters Degree in business (property) - and according to her, he gets a lot of work/works long hours, and does very well.

He has been doing this for a few years however, and owns his own business, so very established.

How hard or easy it is to get started, I don't know.
