Anyone ever been asked about Political membership..

I received a government letter yesterday under the electoral act 1992,from the register of political parties for the eligibility review, saying that I have to verify that I am a current member of a party in QLD,a criterion for registration as a non-parliamentary party is there is at least 500 members..

First time this has ever happened to me,has anyone ever been asked this prior to a state election ?..maybe it's because I use 2 addresses in Brisbane.

PUP?

There is a question mark over this party and they have to prove 500 genuine members or lose registered party status.

I guess they, the regulator, thought that,
because its been on news programs, radio talk back, sleazy tabloids,
especially sleazy tabloid tv, love it love it
it must be as interesting to the general public as it is to them,
that Clive is in trouble over numbers,
and they didn't have to provide a proper explanation in the letter.

PUP needs 500 affirmative replies, to be permitted to run as a party

Makes me wonder, every time I went along to have a listen to the different people talk, I would have thought that "PUP" had more then 500 people on the books, maybe not....just posted the letter back so at least they have one, even the Rebels o l m c 1% would have more the 500 patched members..
