Was looking around realestate.com for fun and found a block of apartments in Belmont (recently or about to be built). Does anyone know how they managed to get the apartments on the block when it was originally zoned R20/40?

It was more than likely approved under the development standards for multiple dwellings which are permissible or at the very least discretional in areas coded r40. This is based on plot ratio and not minimum and average lot sizes.
