well to be fair, australia didnt ask for the whole f1 jet and military escort stuff

has the same being done for the other prisoners???

what about the January executions?

frankly, its their laws, I think costs should be bore by them,

and have you seen the price increases on both the entry and exit taxes to bali!?!?! theyve gone up almost 100% in a few months

yeh...in USD too thanks very much! and a lot of the hotel costs are in USD too... annoys me that we are their major supporter and they look to USD.

quite a significant chunk of people start using heroin after getting hooked up on prescription drugs that contain opiates, because it's much easier to get heroin compared to the prescriptions.

Really???? You got the evidence to back up that claim?
I'd like to see the published evidence from reputable sources along with stats. Not some Reddit rubbish or similar dodgy opinion piece.

Quite probably the people that are feeling the most pain at the moment are the 2 Men's parents. They would be asking themselves "Where did we go wrong?"
Entering the world of Drug Trafficking was going to turn bad eventually. Looks like now it has all caught up with them.
No-one knows how many this will deter from following this path, but let's hope it is many!

There are plenty who enter a life of crime who get away with it. How about them should we round them up and execute too?

There are many different levels of crime. Getting away with it doesn't make it right.
By your analogy those that have raped and murdered children should get a slap on the wrist.
They new what they were doing, and the consequences. Don't cry sookysooklala when you get caught!

by saying don't send them aid after the execution isn't that agreeing with drug trafficking! lets face it there only sorry because they got caught !

Exactly. This pair would still be in operation if they hadn't been caught. They had no consideration for their own lives or those around them. That is why now their parents are feeling the pain.

yes, there have been studies in US that confirm that.
google is your friend.

No, I am disagreeing with the death penalty. Life in jail may be more appropriate but I think that's too severe as well. But it's better than death.

Sure, they may be sorry they got caught but they have already paid their debt to Indonesian society IMO.

As a parent, this is one of my fears for my 3 babies.

I can only impart on them the right values, but it is up to them to choose their friends as they get older.

We can only hope they make good decisions; it is a very worrying part of life for parents.

Yes , as you and I both know there are no guarantees in life. You try to do the best you can but in the end they make their own decisions. Sadly for their loved-ones it has been the wrong path.

you can't pay that type of debt as it was a contingent liability. In fact the liability was their lives, so am not sure how you have managed to pay off the loan yet.

As for accrued monetary debt, correct me if I am wrong but I don't think they have paid over a red cent of their ill gotten gains

it's pretty darn unlikely, you'd have to be a complete idiot to walk thru indo customs with a chunk of heroin -seriously what moron would do this?

They paid with the ten years of incarceration. They could have earned half million $ in that time doing an ordinary job. In any civil society a ten year sentence would have covered the debt ie the ill deed that they committed.

I don't know if they paid a red cent. Maybe there was no fine, not sure.

But if there were a monetary debt and by paying it would allow them to dodge the bullet then I would donate $1000 for that cause.

the best way to support a drug dealer is give a junkie some money.

as for a trifling $1000, that wouldn't go far in the bill that these scum have run up

It's generally extremely desperate people, usually drug addicts and low level players in the game. Don't forget, there are so many people that do this and get away with it, the security at Denpasar is pathetic, the only reason they managed to catch the Bali 9 is because the Dad tipped them off.

Instead of catching 1 in 100,000 and killing them to make it high profile and deter others, they should tighten their borders and actually start checking peoples bags when they come through the airport.

When i went to bali and they werre charging 50 entry tax and 20 to leave i was thinking. The average indo earns like 20 per week. And there are literally 10,000 people per day walk in and out of this aiport, surely this is a price gouge for the sake of it, or its to pay off the newly renovated airport

The country must be raking it in with the tourism
