I hate it that the men are given notification that they have 72 hours to live on ANZAC day. It's ironical.
On Anzac day, we commemorate young men going to their slaughter at Gallipolli. These 2 men are going to their slaughter in 72 hours.

Jakarta: Bali nine organisers Andrew Chan and Myuran Sukumaran may have just three days left to live after they were officially given 72 hours notification of their executions on Saturday.

The condemned men are bracing to be killed on Tuesday night however Attorney-General spokesman Tony Spontana said no date had been set and they may have longer.

Their Australian lawyer Julian McMahon returned from Nusakambangan, where the men will be executed, with three self-portraits painted by Sukumaran. One painting, still wet and dated April 25, carried the haunting inscription: "The 72 hours just started". The second dated April 24 was called "Strange Day". And the third, also dated April 25, said: "Our new prints: A bad sleep last night".

Under Indonesian law the earliest a prisoner can be executed once they receive official notification is in 72 hours time.

The Attorney-General's office has indicated it is waiting on Monday's Supreme Court decision on Indonesian marijuana trafficker Zainal Abidin before setting a date.

The men's devastated families, who are scrambling to get to Cilacap, will now be allowed to visit the men every day in their isolation cells on Nusakambangan before they are shot by a 12 man firing squad.

Indonesian authorities today advised Australian consular officials that the executions of Andrew Chan and Myuran Sukumaran will be scheduled imminently at Nusa Kambangan prison in central Java.

Foreign Minister Julie Bishop said nothing can be gained and much will be lost if the Australians are executed.

"Legal challenges remain before the Constitutional Court and Judicial Commission, which raise fundamental questions about the integrity of their sentencing and the clemency process. These claims should be heard.," she said.

Ms Bishop said she had spoken to Sukumaran's mother Raji on Friday and assured her the government would continue to seek clemency from Indonesian President Joko Widodo for both men.

However the execution of the remaining nine drug felons is likely to occur within days.

Local undertaker Suhendro Putro told Fairfax Media police had asked him on Friday to prepare coffins but had not given him an indication of how many.

In yet another ominous portent, all of the felons except Atlaoui have been transferred to isolation cells in the high security Besi prison on Nusakambangan ahead of the executions.

yes but think of all the young men that won't be slaughtered as a result of their blood merchandise not hitting the streets? You could take this as a tribute to lives saved.

Zero. Murdering these two has nothing to do with drugs. It is all about politics, corruption and sticking it to Australia. Indonesia does not give two hoots about people who may take drugs. Their police and judicial system are corrupt and heavily involved in the trade. Domestic Indonesian drug distributors pay bribes to the right people and do not get the death penalty, instead they get let off early.

Agree or disagree with execution, one thing for sure there will be more victims after this, those left behind, family, friends to pick up the pieces, I would not wish this on anyone

has the drug traffic slowed down since the announcement these 2 men are slated for execution?
Apparently not.

In fact, for eg; on ABC radio last week, there was a police guy talking about the Ice epidemic currently now on in Ballarat.

It's unbelievable; with all the information and advice now freely available to folks about the dangers of all these drugs, we still see an increase in certain drugs' usage?

Either we humans are very deaf, or very stupid, or both.

I Disagree. I don't believe they are consciously "sticking it to Australia".

We (Australia) have made a massive issue of this event (rightly so) and tried to save their lives through our efforts (commendable), but let's not lose sight of the fact that the Bali drug laws were in place long before the Bali 9 folks were caught.

Bali execute folks from all over the world every year; Australians are merely part of that group.

FWIW; my SIL lives in Bali, and they hear next to nothing about the goings on associated with this case. Most of what she knows is from what we tell her.

Only 3 in Indonesia in the last 10 years before 2015 for drug offences (none in Bali, ever). This is new, erratic and unjustifiable behaviour from Indonesia which should be strongly rejected, with sanctions if necessary.

they can stick it to us all they like, there's absolutely nothing we can do. They could walk in and occupy Lygon St if they fancied.

As has been pointed out many times before in this thread, just because we cant do anything about it doesn't mean we shouldn't try.

That's exactly right, the Bali Nine are world famous in Australia only and in a few days when the title of this thread becomes numerically incorrect, they'll still only be world famous in Australia.
Many Asian countries carry the death penalty, it's no secret.
This is no more than an idiots suicide in Asia.
