"Booming in the Bust"

Got sent this email about their 3-day symposium on how to "boom in the bust" and how to register for one of only 250 free tickets per state. Put my name in the hat and have got a free ticket to the 3-day event.

Now the sceptical side of me says that this will be a waste of time and that nothing comes for free. Anyone else seen this or have any opinions of it?

I'm quite tempted to turn up for at least the first day and see what transpires.

Hope the link works.

Strange that it's on in Syd, Melb and Bris at the same time. How do they get all the speakers to the same venues at the same time or is it all video recorded.

I would be interested to listen to Harry S Dent, just for the hell of it, but the rest of the speakers I have no idea about and as already mentioned I think it will be a massive pitch and sign up fest.

Cheers

I'm familiar with some of the speakers, most of them are generic business & motivational speakers.
Starting, running, promoting etc type stuff but generic.
If you got free tickets and others are paying, great!

They probably rotate them, so 3 speakers will speak in the first venue on day one, the second on day 2 and the third on day 3. Otherwise they're tied up in Oz for 3 weeks.

Sometimes, you need to read , and listen to things, that you already know, and this anoys me! but if i pick up Just one more thing i did'nt already know i am happy.:D
So go along if you have the time, and look for that one thing you do not know?
leave your wallet at home though!
And come back and tell the class:D

Looks like they are just giving away tickets now.

When I originally looked I am sure that there was a cost be it that it wasn't high but now there is no cost!!!

They musn't have received a lot of interest so are giving it away just to get people to turn up.

Cheers

Each presenter will give you a brief overview of their course.
Then if you want to learn more you can sign up with them.

That's how they get paid.

There are different ones like this on every month.

So is anybody going to this event?

I will be there for some of it so just want to know if I should be on the lookout for anybody.

Cheers

Not going HA, however would be keen to hear what Harry Dent has to say if you are around to listen to his presentation. Please post back. :)

I've just started reading his book The Great Depression Ahead and whilst it's largest bias of info is to the US, he does touch on Asia. Not sure how much of it can be extrapolated to Aus however anything that eventuates there will affect us here to a degree, possibly moreso with credit supply issues.

I have a ticket, but not sure yet if I'll be there for some or any of it. Would be good to see a program in advance to know who is on when.

Is it a sign?

When these guys start the spruik is it the start of something, soon to be followed by the reno shows (Backyard Blitz etc) then everyone jumps onboard and the circle continues.

I could be wrong but this is how I remember the start last time.

As per this article it pretty well reflects what he said

http://www.news.com.au/business/story/0,27753,25666899-462,00.html

He was still very US centric only saying Aus won't be as severely affected. The main reason for the variation in our demographic makeup is due to the level of immigration that has happened over many years

I wouldn't pay to much attention to his predictions re share market levels but I do think there is some basis for his whole demographic philosophy. He was certainly right about the boom ahead and now the downturn. Both actually covered in his earlier books.

The whole 3 day session was really a gigantic advert for the various speakers product services or seminars. The level of information given during their individual presentation varied greatly from one devoid of any content to those that just about divulged everything.

The speakers I saw that had something to offer to me were

Dr Tom McKaskill.

Lots of YouTube segments avail dealling with same subject as on the day. He was mainly promoting his books

Ari Galper

Promoting himself as a super salesman with a different and interesting approach. To describe his sales approach you would have to say 'conversational' taking the confrontation out of the whole sales approach.

If your in sales or want to improve your own sales abi;ity then he may have an angle that appeals.

Dr Joseph Michelli

Interesting marketer. Looking at the whole customer experience. Interesting local content was a botique food store in Gosford which extended to cafe type tables. statement to inspire the young staff and ensure the customer experience is "serve the customer as you would your mum" or words to that affect.

Joel Comm

An easy to listen and enthusiastic presenter. Hard core software / internet entreprenuer. His product was a complete resource library for internet non program developing.

I have included the links for easy reference and am not promoting any of these speakers nor their products.

I didn't attend the last day as I only really went to hear Dent.

Cheers

Thanks for posting HA.

I've finished his book and whilst his demographic model(s) are interesting, the US centricity of it is of lesser prognostic use to us in Oz. :(

I did enjoy his book however and it is less bearish (for us) than the title might suggest. Europe and the US is a different story.

Thanks for taking the time to provide some of the links to the other speakers you heard. :)
