Brisbane monthly lunch

I am arriving on a 40 foot catamaran.

Not sure what it's worth, I don't really look at such frivolous figures *sigh*

Yes, I am catching the CityCat.

We do have a booking now! 12:30pm, Street Cafe, name "Somers" ;)

And I'll be arriving in my family truckster. :D

Hi all

Thanks again Tracy for organizing a great meeting. I'm in favour of any future, anytime, just about any place. The Regatta was a good location.

Regards, Neil

Hi Tracey

Thanks for organising this successful meet. It was great putting faces to names and meeting like minded people.

I look forward to the next meet.

Oh what a shame I couldn't make it due to job interviews - it sounds like it was a good lunch. Sunday nights would definately suit me in the future tho.

Great meeting everyone. Nice to put faces to names.

The sunday night idea sounds good. I'm looking forward to the next meeting already.

Aaron

Got to add my thanks to Tracey also.

It was a great arvo spent talking property and meeting some of the ppl on the forum. Count me in on the next one.

Chris

Thanks Tracey and the others for a great lunch - I really enjoyed it!! That spot in the corner at the Regatta was great.

Cheers

Amended roll call for yesterday, now that I've figured you all out:

Aaron (Aaarghhh)
Kerstin (kaf)
Renate (rkordic)
Neil (backpacker)
Israel (southbrisbane)
Bryn (bamute)
Vlad (fenix)
Bruce (WinstonWolfe) - who didn't wear his "I love Jenman" t-shirt :D
Chris (BKR)
Sailesh (Sailesh_Channan)
Tracey (ozperp)

And I don't think I forgot anybody... if I did, you must not have talked enough ;)

Look forward to seeing Andrew (Andrew_A), Sean (Horizon), Grant (urban cowboy), Mark (Mark Laszczuk), Nat (natmarie73), Lynn (LynnH), ianvestor, and I hope many others at future gatherings.

My plan was to alternate between Thursday lunchtimes and Sunday evenings each month, in the first half of the month, but not necessarily rigidly on 1st or 2nd Thu/Sun. Of course there's absolutely nothing preventing others organising additional get-togethers, if none of these plans suit you.

I'm thinking we aim for Sunday 1st June, 6:30pm for our next get-together, for dinner. (I would have said the 8th but that's a public holiday weekend and thought people may be away). The Regatta is a great venue for Thursday lunches and I think we'll stick with that, but they have live music Sunday nights, so we'll try another venue for dinner.

Criteria:

1) quiet enough for us to talk without shouting,
2) not too expensive (so nobody feels priced out of attending - max $20 for food),
3) nothing too exotic/specialised (not just serving sushi or curry etc),
4) within 5 mins CBD, and
5) ample cheap/free parking.

Please make suggestions of places that you know fit all these criteria.

Next lunch: Thursday 10th July, 12:30pm, Regatta Hotel's Street Cafe - booking under "Somers" again.

I plan to re-post regarding both the above 1-2 weeks prior. Just a heads-up for your diaries...

Drinks and dinner in Brisbane: Friday 12th June

OK, so the monthly lunches died out... but there are a few confirmed for drinks and dinner (if interested) for tomorrow night, Friday 12th June, 6pm, St Paul's Tavern, corner of Leichhardt and Wharf Sts in Spring Hill.

It's walking distance from the CBD, and there's also ample parking at the pub.

Hope to see some of you there!
