CBA to drop standard var. rate by .21%

Im guessing we'll see between .25 and .50 tomorrow on cup day, theyre going to want to leave some headroom for next month if need be. but I could be wrong ofcourse...

What are your particulars to get this rate?

No idea.

Would it be our level of debt?

We're up to $1.3 mill with CBA so far.

There are a number of different loans, including 2 LOC's, and a credit card.

Credit card never gets used. It's an "in an emergency" job.

Can't wait to see the news tonight!

I'm thinking a rate lock on the loans might be on the cards before too long.

Agreed, let today's 50bp cut flow through to the banks, then another 50bp and start thinking about fixing. That's where my head is at. Should see fixed rates at 6.5% odd.

Michael

Westpac Rates

hi Michael,

Out of curiousity, how did you get 7.56% with WBC?

We are also with Westpac but we thought we did well with 7.76%!!!!
(granted our total loans are $750K).

Much appreciated
jennifer

Hi Jennifer,

I asked...

All my rates are an 80bp discount to the standard variable rate. My lending is about $1.2M which might help a bit, but it never hurts to ask.

And, following today's rate cut by the RBA, I'll probably end up back below 7% by the time WBC passes most of it on.

Cheers,
Michael

Westpac rate

Hi Michael

Thanks for the prompt reply; we are also on the Premier Advantage Package (i assume this is your so called pro pack?) and we were given a 0.8% discount to the standard variable rate of 8.56%

8.56 % - 0.8% still gives 7.76 and not 7.56%?

Pray enlighten me further...

Cheers
