Deposits - Whats Next ?

Update on the deposit situation, the builders solicitor has received payment for the deposit.

Where do we stand now? How do we get the deposit back.

Thank bank has decided to cancel the contract and will not be proceeding with the contract.

Is it hard to get the money back once it has gone to the builders solicitor if the contract is cancelled by the builder (or anyone?)

What are the chances of getting this money back? Is there any time restrictions placed on them?

Normally the Solicitor would be holding the deposit in trust until all of this is finalised. If the contract is cancelled by the builder they have to pay it to you.

Have you gotten a lawyer yet? Just because your bank is refusing to settle does not mean you are released from the contract. I think you understand that but its a bit hard to tell from your post.
