I think I'm fast becoming an addict.
For those that don't know - the Tip Shop is the reclaimed goods shop at the local tip ... the one where they sell the stuff that is still in good nick but others throw out ... and it's sooooo cheap (well, ours is anyhow).
I've bought a fully meshed security door, including key and lock, for the farm flat at half the price of the local salvage yard at around $100 - I've bought cane baskets that I've cleaned up to sell our garlic in at the local markets for less than $5 - I've bought bags and bags of books to put in the games room at our tourist cottages for $5 a "green" bag - I've bought coffee tables in great nick (solid timber and wrought iron) for the cottages at $15 each
... and today I spied a beautiful wrought decorative fly screen in great condition that I'll slip back and buy when I have hubby's 4wd as I need a couple of screens for bedroom privacy in the front yard. I think three screens will be perfect - and even if they're not the same style, painted in the same colour they'll look great.
Also spotted some chairs for a couple of dollar each that wouldn't look out of place in a funky unit, but sadly won't suit my current house ...
Anyone else discover this treasure trove?
