Double concrete entrance wasted space

Any ideas?
As you walk through double entrance doors this is the entry.
A tiled over corner may have been a planter has been filled with cement.

We were originally going to tear down and just fill in the tiles but unfortunately we can't get the matching tiles.

Not sure what to do with it now??

Are you sure the tiles don't extend under that weird obstruction?

And who fits a panel of glass blocks in a short wall which is already reasonably well lit, what were they thinking, excess budget to spend at the time?

Pretty sure you're looking at Perth architectural features in the 80 or early 90s - glass bricks and planters were de rigour along with our love of double brick. That planter will be a b1tch to get rid of.

I bet there is a cream face brick wall somewhere near the kitchen or games room in the house. :p

Yep, the house has unique features. This was for feng shui apparently not good to see stairs when you walk in from front doors..

And fortunately no bare brick anywhere. The house has good bones 5m high ceilings ect but a few quirky bits

The fengshui of the stairs/planter doesn't look too good to me.
Fengshui is based on a 'nice flow', clean lines, open feeling, soothing feeling etc
The planter, stairs and wall built at the bottom of the stairs look so.... awkward.
