Finishing off partly built 2 storey home

Am looking at blocks of land and found one with a partly built 2 storey house on it. It is at say $50k premuim to the equivalent vacant lot but this may be negotiated down I guess.

What should I be checking and asking to see?

I believe very hard to finance and find a builder who will warrant the old and new work.

If the builder is still a available and its just the owner that needs to sell then it might be possible for them to complete it for you.

It is up to plate hieght on the first level.

The more I think about it, the more i think it is only worth pursuing if I can get it at pretty much land value and I can contract the same builder to finish the house at a reasonable price (and warranty the lot).

You will also need to check that all necessary council inspections have been carried out for the work already done.
