Food for BBQ

Hi Guys,

I'm liking this forum already. However, I would shoot my first post here non-property related.

Im attending my friends BBQ and everyone should bring at least one thing!
What do you guys suggest ? Something good to with the Barbie but not too expensive!

Cheers

Just arrived home from a BBQ (steaks on coal) where I supplied the potato bake and salad.

Potato bake.

In a baking dish, place

layer of cooking cream
layer of sliced potato
layer of onion
later of diced bacon
Pepper

repeat.

Bake at 180 for 1 hr 45 min.

Easy peasy :).

marinated roo steak straight from the Supermarket shelf

Only good for those that can handle meat NOT well done, coz the secret with roo is to not overcook, otherwise shes as tough as old boots

Hmm....I learnt that the hard way.

It's not too nice if it's very rare either.

That's the only problem with roo - it has to be cooked perfectly....and I'm far from a perfect cook :(

Wow tremendous responses! great ideas from all.

So, I've narrawed down my options below:
1. Breads from the german bakehouse Luneburger. Perhaps, I will get a mix of plain and multigrain so it wont look too slack :) Do you guys recommend any other place to get good quality bread?
2. Mexican nacos if weather is NOT promising. So we can have it indoor!

havent you seen that tv add...........cadbury favourites, when you're told to bring nothing at all simple.....pick those boys up on the way.

or you could re gift a bottle of plonk
