Good moving insurance

We've got to move from our rental apartment to another apartment. Can someone recommend a good "moving insurance", or, alternatively are there any insurance companies that include "moving insurance" with the standard contents insurance?

Thanks,
Sahi

Sahi,

If you are getting a removalist company to move you, then they will be able to recommend an insurance policy for the move.

If you are moving yourself with a hire truck, then I don't know anyone who will cover that.

To follow up on my own question.

All insurance companies expect professional packing, if you pack yourself and then use the professional movers, you will get a VERY limited insurance (truck accident, fire, etc), while the damage to furniture due to scratches, etc will not be covered.

It means that in most simple move cases the transit insurance is pretty useless.

Be warned.

A lot of removalists offer moving insurance. This "insurance" is really a promise to pay by the moving company.

During the Brisbane floods many loads were damaged. The moving companies went belly up and the home owners discovered they really had no imsurance at all.

Always buy moving insurance from a reputable insurance company. Or consider not bothering at all.
