Has any been to Perth International Airport

Hi Guys

I have 5 hours at Perth Airport on Friday night...other than an expensive taxi ride to the Casino i was thinking of using the internet.

I won't have my laptop, i know they have internet at the airport but i can't find out if its ones where I can sit down or the ones where you have to stand up.

Help is appreciated

Take your laptop, take a taxi, just get out of there!!!

Perth airport sucks without having to spend 5 hours there.............. take it from a local it is really basic!

Unless you can get into a club lounge, I would avoid it if possible. The domestic trip, plus the international leg are enough of a drain.

there is no infrastructure in WA... money all been sucked out of the state. you won't want to spend any time at any Perth airport. getting a taxi will be your next problem.

When I was in Perth earlier this year, I had just arrived at lunchtime and there was an announcement that all toilets at both terminals were out of action. Imagine that. The look on people's faces was priceless.
I do like the fact that when you fly into Perth there people who hand out maps of the city. They remind me of the Olympic volunteers.

I thought Adelaide's airport was the worst in Australia (before it was upgraded) and then I went through Perth! Oh my God! We had to transfer from International to Domestic to get to Adelaide - even the Pilot was fighting with the bus driver on the way over because their systems were so primitive.

Go back in time 30 years and you've just arrived at Perth Domestic & International Airports present day. Ive just returned from Singapore & Hong Kong. Wow what a airport contrast between Australia and those 2 countries. More like visiting a hotel / large shopping centre with transit lounges attached over there.

It's a bit like the Gold Coast airport. Not much there at all.

The casino isn't really all that appealing either, unless you like throwing money away. Perth is fairly quiet, although quite nice.

With five hours, I'd spend $40 on a hire car and drive to Freemantle. Do some of the touristy stuff around there.

We were there in March - people sitting on the floor in the Qantas Club. Very overcrowded.

taxi FROM the airport isn't the problem - it's getting a taxi BACK in time to catch your plane.

i love singas airport - so much to do before you even leave to catch any myriad of taxis that cost al of $7 to get to your hotel - 15mins away.

perth is VERY bad as far as travel goes.

As above re. Taxi's. My sister moved over to Perth from Bris last year. She was going to Freo and I told her she'd have to catch a bus to train station and take train. I told her she wouldn't be able to get a taxi to the train station. She didn't take me serioulsly and waited over an hour for a taxi. She then rang the Taxi company and they said it would be unlikely she'd be able to get one. So don't take not being able to get a taxi lightly!! My sis only lasted about 3 months.
