Help!! Not sure what to do

I have a house at Bateau Bay NSW Central Coast. The waterproofing in the shower has been fixed twice in recent years. The skirting board in the room that backs onto the shower is swelling and feels damp yet the carpet appears dry and the gyprock wall is not showing any signs of dampness.

Any suggestions on what to do next? Not sure who to contact first.

If you are from The Central Coast can you recommend a builder and or plumber and a tiler.

Any advice greatly appreciated.

Call a plumber with a camera to pin point the leak. Otherwise sacrifice the gyprock to find out for sure. Don't let any one guess what the leak is or where and start work on it.

Sorry, but that about all one can say in these circumstances. Guessing will properly give you more grief.

Best of luck

Seeing that the watrproofing has been done my guess would be a leaky pipe.

If that IS the case you could take the gyprock off the outside wall. But if it's more than that you'll have to strip out the shower, repair, resheet and tile.

Is the bathroom due for an update? Might be time to do it.

If it is a leaking pipe you amy be covered by insurance for the damage caused but NOT the leaking pipe itself.
