Hoppers Crossing, VIC - Good Area?

Hi,

Looking for my first IP. Thinking whether Hoppers Crossing is any good? Capital growth has been slowed (but good for us, as it allows us to step into the market!), but i think with potential to grow quickly with all the developments surrounding it?

Would it be better to get an established property with good sized land on it or just go for the house & land package since there're so many around it?

Looking to hold it but quite some time.

Any comments?

I won't say Hoppers Crossing as a bad place to buy. You can still get decent old house on good block for 250K. Where in melbourne for 22Kms from city you can buy like this. Eventually it will get the ripple effect from near suburbs like Point Cook, Tarneit, Williams Landing etc...and will peform in long term. My expectation is in next 5 years Hoppers Crossing and Werribee will catch for all its lost growth.
