How can I find out the owner of a property

Hi Guys,

Recently, I find a property which I like pretty much, I'd like to buy it, but I don't know how to find out the owner, then I can go to ask him/her if it can be sold or not?

I tried a few times to walk around the property, but I never meet the owner and no one go out from and enter in the property. It looks like no one is living inside.

Is there anyone experienced this case before, and how did you get it?

I am unsure how it will work in Melb with privacy laws etc. In NSW I visit the local Council - usually very easy to get that info.

might have to try a buyers agent...all they would do is use rpdata anyway i'd guess. Maybe an active real estate agent in the area may even try and do ur "dirty" work and contact the vendor.

Owner information is public record in Victoria. You can go to:

https://www.landata.vic.gov.au/tpc/tpc_home.aspx

and search for any address, lot/plan number, or folio/title number. Cost is $12.50 per address. It will be sent in PDF format to your email address. Easy!
