Jaycee
If you extra $10m you charged me allowed me to be part of a consortium that sold specialised military equipment to the US and that resulted in me acquiring shares that were now worth $100m I would again say that is a fair fee.
Making comparisons is not always wise. You don't know what secret deals are going on behind the scenes.
I once charged a client about $250k in fees. What they got in return was pretty amazing. To this day they are very happy.
Then you would have a problem Jaycee because as soon as you were reported to the Tax Agents Board and your fees were seen to have provided no value, and in your own words claimed to be better than others which is in itself a breach of the standards set by CPA Australia and the ICAA, you would be deemed not to be a fit and proper person and lose your license meaning you could no longer act.
Jaycee,
I agree it is a difficult question to answer to be honest. Some people say $200 is expensive others say $10 is expensive. Maybe the $200 person gave some good additional advice. Maybe they didn't. At the end of the day you just have to be comfortable within yourself that the fee you paid you feel like you got value for it. I just bought a Prada belt today for $400 AUD. Some people would say it is a waste of money. But I like the design and like original things not ripoffs. So for one person a waste. For another happy with the value for the money.
