How to delete all files off a computer??

Boot the computer in command prompt mode, then format the hard drive.
Programs such as Norton System Works also have applications which will delete the file then write rubbish over the area of the hard drive where the files were. This can be useful for security.
If you really want to kill everything, fill a bath with salt water, add the computer and plug it in. Stand back when you turn the power on.

I think she meant give it away in a "useable" condition.
I think Kenster might know something - I think he was prep'ing machines for giving away to charity.

That does not delete the files, it is very easy to recover files from a formated disk.

It's free...overwriting with 1 pass of 0's, then 1's, then random digits is the accepted protocol..
formatting and even low level formatting doesn't cut it.....
