Just got this in my junk email folder. Have already blocked it using Spamfighter. I'm surprised it even made it past Spamfighter :confused:

Nah, Wylie it couldn't be 1M, probably more like 100K... Nigerian monkeys are notorious for swinging round and pressing an extra 0 or 00 at those lottery joints.

I suggest taking the letter down to the bank on Monday to use as collateral for any new purchases you are considering

That's a great idea. I will print it out now. And when I have bought another house with it, I will share what is left with the SS members who have been so kind as to congratulate me on my win :D.

I should add that I did get caught (probably about eight years ago before I had ever heard of phishing emails) by clicking on a link supposedly from ebay telling me my account had been frozen until I logged in and sorted it out...... so I know how easy it is to be scammed when you have never heard of such scams. Luckily, somebody emailed me to ask why I was selling motorbikes so cheaply (WHAT!!!!), so I sorted it out with the real ebay before any damage was done. But until then, I had never heard of such things as phishing.

I am just amazed that there could be anybody left who has not heard of these scams.

**** i should be a multi trillionaire and the richest man in Aus by now for the number of those emails i get (hotmail), hence i don't use it anymore!!!

I still use hotmail, but I set it to the max level of security where only named emails get through my filter. The rest all go into junk which I check sporadically. Much cleaner...

I like to email these people to waste there time, i have plenty of spare time at work so it keeps me ammused. I have a seperate email address set up for it.

Not many people have an international passport though. I have an Australian one, and i know a few people with an American or English one. Haven't seen too many international ones about :p

You just subscribe to too many porn websites. :p
I have been using Hotmail for years and years, and have never received any of these. In fact I don't receive any spam!
 
My sister once thought she had won a million from a similiar email, she had clicked on the link. Boy was she agro when I told her it was not true, and she still did not believe me until I opened a new browser, went to the ridgy didge site and showed her thier info mentioning the spam emails.

So yes, my sister was about to forward on all her personal details, bank account details etc and was going to surprise all of the family with her new found wealth.

Thank goodness she mentioned to me I was about to inherit some money from her, lol.
