Inflation rates ??

Howdy folks,

Just wondering if anyone knows where I can find historical annual inflation data. What I am looking for is an annual percentage so that I can look at roughly what rental increases should have been. I have been to the RBA and ABS websites and can only seem to find quarterly and annual changes to the CPI but nothing that actually says ...for example - June 98 3.2%, June 99 5.1%, June 00 -0.3% etc... (this would help me work out an average)

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Cheers

Dear Pippety,

The info that you are looking for I believe is in the following link:

http://www.rba.gov.au/Statistics/Bulletin/G01hist.xls

(Anything more than this I think may be an overkill? The key thing is that the years are the same and you can continue to use the same data for years in the past and in the future rather than having to chop and change sources.)

Other info that has also come up:

http://cor-ex.com/EcChal/ecAuEcPInd.htm

Explanation of inflation and graphs of Australian inflation rate (Need powerpoint installed on your computer to view.)
http://www.mcgraw-hill.com.au/mhhe/econ/fraser/ppt/topic18.ppt

Cheers,

Sunstone.
