Interesting site: Social atlas site i.d.com has generated a full range of free interactive maps giving a geographical picture of the 2011 Census data for a range of Australian Local Government Areas (not all of them unfortunately, I think they have to pay to have the mapping done).
Pretty interesting being able to map an LGA by variables such as housing type, household size/type, age structure, social housing, median rental payments, households in mortgage stress, home owners vs renters, unemployment rate, population who has recently moved, etc… the options are endless!
Definitely a cool tool for researching where to buy, IMO (or alternatively for wasting hours of your precious time/sleep).
Oh well there goes my afternoon’s productivity. Just wish my IP’s LGA was listed!
