Investing in Yamba

Whats does anyone think about Yamba as a good area to invest in?? Went there on hols & liked it, thought it could be a good investmanet area? Thoughts??

Hi there
we have relatives in Yamba who we like to visit when we get the chance.
It is a nice spot to holiday - but from a day to day point of view - there are not a lot of services in the immediate area. Children have to be bussed out for High School and have to leave town for University.
If people have major shopping to do they have to travel to the more major centres.
It strikes me as more of a lifestyle/see change sort of place rather than somewhere that will rake in the investment dollars.
Also be aware that it can be adversely affected by flooding of the Maclean river.

Its a sea change location - should do OK as near the beach. But there are probably better investments.

Also check out the rental returns 4 br house avg at 260pw in Crystal Waters (western Yamba on the river), not much goes above this for the majority of properties and vacancy rates can be high if you buy in the wrong area.
