Iphone Tethering and jailbreak

has anyone tried to jailbreak there 3gs

If you have, where do u get the software...

Also.. anyone use there iphone as a modem... is there an app for it so you dont have to pay your carrier a monthly fee to use your datatransfer you already pay for.

Get a HTC phone.

The iPhone is a nice piece of hardware, but it'll be a cold day in hell before I give Apple the amount of control they would like to have over me.

I've used it as a modem, and it works pretty well. I don't think all carriers
charge extra to use tethering.

Some dont offer it at all.... Optus charge for it... but i have heard there is ways to get tethering free...

I think its cheeky to charge to allow you to use data download you get for free with the phone.

As others i have talked to have said... if they take there simcard out of there Iphone and put it into a nokia (for example) tethering works.... its only stopped on the iphone.
