Hi guys just following up on this; have those who mentioned use of Terri Scheer been pleased with their policies? I just took a policy out, read the PDS and fine print and whilst not 100% perfect, was the best for my needs. Has anyone using Terri Scheer had any 'claims' horror stories?

Further to previous post, email come through this afternoon claim has been approved and money will be transferred into nominated account within 72hours.

Easy process, required paper trail not over the top- no complaints my end. Will continue to use in the future!

Im with Terri Scheer also. About $300 per year premium.

+1! Also you can get combined policy premium discount, do you get that? Prices vary little between properties held in different states.
Oh, agent in WA likes to use EBM....

$300 is for Landlord Insurance.

Home/Building Insurance is paid by the Body Corp/Strata.

But, if you own houses then yes, you pay for LL and BI and you can get combined policy discount from them....

An independent Agent told me today, she just made a claim for a landlord and they were very easy to deal with and paid out...so I suppose agents' like them but I am unsure if they get some commission for recommending them????

Agents get paid around $11 for recommending terri scheer - it's disclosed in the management agreements.

However if you work in a real estate office and process lots of claims, nothing else really stacks up.
Other, non specialists insurers have a $500 or $1000 excess on default claims and will not process things like cleaning and rubbish removal costs. But if aliens take your chimney or a dinosaur walks through the property it's covered - huge scare tactics for things that are unlikely to happen!

$11 is not exciting enough to the be the only reason for the referral. Great bonus when it comes in but the specialists companies have so many more benefits.
