List of buyers agents

I would like to start a thread listing buyers agents around Australia and the locations they specialize in. One of the great things a buyers agent can bring to the table for me is local knowledge.

My FIFO situation makes it hard for me to view properties. I also like the prospects of different regional and capital cities throughout australia. Ballarat is one example however there are many others.

Please list the location you specialize in. Hopefully we can cover many different parts of Australia.

Hi B. Simpson

For an overall view of reputable BA's nationally check out the REBAA website www.rebaa.com.au Good local knowledge is paramount when hiring an advocate to work on your behalf, so always look for a BA who has bought before in the area and is able to provide you with a suburb rundown/summary.

We have 3 BA's who cover most of Sydney, and specialize in the North, NorthWest and Western suburbs. We also cover Inner West and city. Our area of expertise covers as far west as Blacktown, north to Asquith/Hornsby, south to Parramatta/Granville and east as far as the Bridge :D

Regional BA's are more difficult to locate, given that most towns don't have sufficient demand to justify running a buyers agency. Larger areas such as the Central Coast and Hunter Valley however (where Propertunity operates) can have a few more to choose from. If you also check out the REINSW members list you'll find more:

Thanks Jacque,

The regionals are a bit of a problem. I have my eyes on a number of towns around Australia, but getting there is difficult as I work 26 days on/ 9 days off.

I really want to buy a few properties per year but being remote so often, and being a beginner I am a bit hesitant to commit.

Hi b simpson

Whilst I focus on Adelaide metro (specialise in Eastern, inner Southern, Adelaide Hills and the Coast plus all suburbs further south), regional assignments in SA can be agreed on case-by-case basis. Some towns are only 1 to 2 hours drive and don't generally present a major problem in terms of access. As Jacquie said, I don't think there are many BAs located in regional areas. Happy to talk further if you need help in SA.

Thanks of the help everyone. That list might come in handy propertunity, however I would prefer to use someone who has been on somersoft for a while. It just gives me a bit more confidence than someone off a web page or yellow pages.

Areas I'm interested in are armidale NSW, ballarat Vic, Wollongong NSW, bendigo Vic, Logan qld, Elizabeth SA (logica) Coogee/bondi NSW, blacktown (jacque) and central coast (propertunity).

I have pretty clear requirements to what I'm looking for for each location.

Whilst Ben is an agent and works for 'the other side', he's also very open and more than happy to share a lot of very useful information about the Bendigo market. He's definitely worth listening too.

Thanks everyone for their help. I feel a lot more confident about what to do next and have a strategy planned out.

So has anyone used a selling agent to help them source a property in a regional area, or is using a selling agent for this purpose an oxymoron? If the regional town has no buying agents is it possible would this work?

I understand people's criticism of belu for posting in this thread, however he does come across as someone genuine so on the surface seems better than many RE's I have dealt with before.

Any buying agents willing to assist in ballarat?

I have helped a number of people on this forum buy real estate in Bendigo, both ours and other agents, both before and after I became an agent.

If you would like a hand or opinion, on any property in Bendigo, let me know and I will give you my honest opinion. If not, no harm no foul :)

What's your point?

Even a sales agent has good information about how certain areas in a smallish town like Bendigo are evolving. They may come from a sales perspective, but that doesn't make their information any less valid. You've simply got to extract the reasons behind what their perspective and add it to your own pool knowledge.

Dismissing someone because their in sales is quite closed minded and you could miss out on something useful. Believe it or not, everybody is in sales on some level.

If I did know any BAs in Bendigo, I'd be happy to recommend them, but Ben is the best I can suggest for now.

Here's an example of where you have helped a Somersoft member purchase a property.

I'm not denying you know the Bendigo area, we just need to be mindful that you act on behalf of the person you are selling the property for and you do not act on behalf of a buyer.

Perhaps a better way you could contribute to thread about Buyers Agents, is to tap into your local knowledge and let the Somersoft community know of any Buyer Agents in Bendigo? Hey, if there's no Buyers Agents in Bendigo, then no worries, just let us know.

See my post above.

I was rather excited to finally see what I was hoping would be a thread devoted to Buyers Agents and for the greater Sommersoft community to be recommending ones that they'd used with some success. My excitement was short lived.

No worries. To my knowledge there are no BA's in Bendigo. If you want some help, feel free to email me, as members of this forum regularly do and I assist how I can.
