Making an offer

What is the best way to make an offer on a property not advertised for sale? If the owner agrees to sell their property to you do you sit back and wait for them to prepare a contract of sale or would you organise this yourself to save time?

Mick,

Preparing it yourself is always better.. the contract can be made more "buyer friendly", chances are if you leave it to them you'll end up with a "seller friendly" contract.

Leaving it to the seller will also increase the chance it will end up being listed with an Agent, something to avoid at all costs :)

A solicitor can draw you up a contract that you could use as the opportunity arises.
