Mount Tamborine Eagle Heights Wongawallen Road

Hi All
And Thanks in advance for any information/ help/ thoughts/ knowledge on this area.

Does anybody have any information on the area . Specifically the old eagle heights area in close proximity to "Gallery Walk " Long Road where all the trendy little shops and cafes are situated.

I was looking at the prices of the homes and the land in the area and it appears that anything under the $350K IS UNDER CONTRACT or purchased .

Any thoughts on the area in terms of growth and also the boutique accommodation etcetera .

Considering an investment in the area.

Any thoughts knowledge would be greatly appreciated.

Kym:)

Mt Tamborine and surrounding area is generally considered a life-style destination for those who seek a 'green change'. Young families and retirees are attracted to the area. I'm not an expert but have observed that the real estate market seems to follow the ups and downs of the Gold Coast property cycle.

Olde Eagle Heights is an older established area that is more sort after. New land releases and subdivisions on the mountain are limited due to strict council zoning restrictions. Bed and Breakfast types, Resorts, hotels and holiday houses are some of the accommodation offerings for visitors.

Tourists and day trippers are often visible on weekends to visit the many cafes and natural tourist attractions, such as rainforests and national parks. Many local businesses rely on this tourist traffic, although with a local population of over 5,000 permanent residents, businesses that cater for every day services are always in demand. For any specific requirements eg. hospitals or larger shopping centres a short drive off the mountain will be necessary. Southport and Surfers Paradise are approximately a 40 min drive away. Brisbane's southern suburbs can be reached using the M1 in approximately 50 mins.

The local council - Scenic Rim Shire Council provides more general information: http://www.scenicrim.qld.gov.au/regioninfo/tamborinemtn.shtml

A locally developed website gives a bit more insight into Tamborine Mountain:
