nail gun

hi all,

The new IP i'm currently in the process of buying needs a new paling fence, and it's probably about time that i started to fix the paling fences on some of my other IPs as well, so i figure that it is about time i look at buying a nail gun.

Never used one before so don't really know what is involved with them. But as with other tools, i buy them so that i can do my own reno and maintenance work - and the thought of doing a fence with a normal hammer doesn't give me much joy.

So what do i need to look for in a nail gun? Are they all air powered? Any suggestions or recommendations?

Thanks

They usually use a coil nailer for fencing which is different to a framing gun.

I'm not sure if you can get a gas operated coil nailer, but you can get gas framing and fixing guns and these are the way to go as there is no need for hoses and a compressor.

Hi
You would use a coil nailer. These guns can are also very handy for:

triple grips, joist hangers and strapping
ply bracing
decking (dome headed nails)
flooring

Tradetools in qld have their own brand that I have given a flogging for years. As long as you use the right nails it never skips a beat.
