One of the most important sets of statistics for those assessing neighbourhoods has been released by the ABS. Higher the better - ie higher incomes, education and opportunities.

It relates to the 2011 census. You'll be able to compare suburbs. If you don't know what SIEFA is you're missing out. Luckily there's introductory info in the link above.
