Please disregard this question. I phoned a plumber in Australia and he advised that a safety cut off valve is not a requirement in QLD. Thanks to anyone who tried to help.

I have new tenants at a property in North Ipswich, QLD. Last week, the property manager emailed me advising that the tenants have noticed that there is no 'safety cut off valve' fitted to the downstairs oven.
Can anyone advise me on the requirement for this cut off valve? Is this needed? I have read somewhere that this is not a requirement in Australia, but that information is about 5 years old. The stove was fitted approximately 2-3 years ago by the previous tenants (my sister and brother in law) and they had a qualified fitter do the job.
I would appreciate any info you can provide.
