Does anyone else think that when one of the major sponsors of an NRL team is a property depreciation company it is an interesting comment on the prominence of property investing in Australia today?
No more than a bank, stock broker, insurer or brewer sponsoring a team. Just look in your local park on a Saturday morning and how many teams are sponsored by real estate agents.
The point I was trying to make is that it would have been unthinkable, say, 10 yeas ago for a mainstream professional sporting team to be sponsored by a company that assists property investors.
I think that it is an indication of just how significant in today's economy the property investment industry has become.
To be honest I havent followed any code for a number of years, despite watching several games a year of all codes (Rugby, NRL, AFL, Soccer), so I didnt note who each sponsors were.
Minor issue aside, the point I was making that all types of sponsors can construe whatever in terms of subject matter.
I agree in that it shows how much $$$$$ are in the IP related industries and the amount of profits and ROI available that allows for smaller companies like this to invest in high profile advertising with a major sports team.
