OTP fixture validation?

G'day,

my first IP is coming up for settlement quite soon and I was wondering if I should organise someone / a service to check if the builders have actually installed the agreed fixtures.

As I don't live in the same state I can't do this check myself.

Any input is highly welcomed !

Cheers,

If you have a friend/relative up their you could email them or mail them a list of the fixtures and they could go through the property and tick it off for you?

Just a thought

If you spent the money getting an OTP, you may as well spend the extra getting there to check it out - it's not just the fixture - you need to test EVERYTHING (each power point, light socket, hot water, aerial, sink, oven, stove and whatever you have got in there - plus any damagaes in the walls, tiles, cupboards).

When we bought OTP, the fiished product had:

faulty wiring to half the unit
faulty power board
cracked tile in bathroom
2 x blown halogen lights
no hot water service
incorrect gas fitting for stove (would not stay alight)
crack in laminate inside kitchen cupboard

All had to be reported to get fixed under warranty.

Cheers,
