PIG meetings

just wondering whether any Perth investors would like to have regular meetings (say monthly or quarterly) in 2007? I'd be happy to organise (well book a table!!:) ) but I'd just like to know how much interest there is?
I'm keen to catch up & socialise with like minded individuals! My friends & family 'switch off' when we talk properties!!;)

Count me in as well. Dunno if I can make it every month, but would like to see something semi-regular, as opposed to the ad-hoc in the past.

great to see that there is some interest. How about sometime in feb for the first get together? I'm in melb the first weekend but otherwise in WA that month. is an adult dinner preferable to a family picnic/bbq?
I personally think first meeting should be no kids and at a casual eatery (but i don't mind either)....feedback required.:)

Good on you Joanne for organising this.

I don't mind a casual eatery but sometimes it can be a bit hard to talk in groups in restaurants/pubs so if you know somewhere quietish.

It would be good to get to the point where a regular meeting could occur in a central place where we can talk/have speakers/guests sometimes? I've noticed geographical location of members stretches a long way south of Perth and also up north. So perhaps somewhere along the train line in the city? Subi? Leederville? Must also have easy parking. :)

Just a small suggestion…….and well done joannep for taking the initiative in getting some regular meetings happening in Perth.

Just pick a regular time and date…….like the second Saturday (or any other day) of the month. You can never please everyone at the same time. If it’s a regular time they can all work their schedules accordingly.

Other states usually have their get togethers/meetings mid week which may not be as easy for you. As Tizzy said members are very widespread. Just do a bit of research, a lot of pubs/hotels have free private rooms that they are happy to let you use if drinks and meals are purchased. This is what happens in Sydney. In Melbourne we are fortunate to get the use of free rooms at a couple of the uni’s around town. We usually throw in a few pub type dinners in as well during the year, they are always popular…….nothing like good food, wine and conversation.

Just remember……..don’t try to please everyone, it will never happen.

Ruby :)

thanks Tizzy, thanks Ruby.

Ok here goes.......options for the first PIG meeting of 2007 will be: monday 19th feb; Tuesday 20th Feb; wednesday 21st Feb. I'll have a scout round for appropriate venue (am thinking Subi, near the station?).
Anyone interested could you nominate your preferred date and i'll work around it. i won't book until closer to the time but it'd be good to get some idea of numbers.

Joannep,

Sorry, I will be interstate on an IP shopping trip so cant make it.

Post to let me know how it all goes.

Thanks Ruby, great tips! Joanne I'm happy to attend on any of those nights but I do like the idea of "third monday of the month" . I didn't know you could get quieter rooms at pubs either so that would be good if we can arrange that.

thanks Tizzy, I'm happy to make it the 3rd Monday of each month. I'll have a scout round for rooms in pubs (i don't frequent the scene anymore though so I'll be starting from scratch!).
If anyone else has ideas re venue please post. :)

Hi Emw,
hope you are enjoying perth so far. I've not actually attended a PIG meeeting before but I'm trying to organise regular ones for 07. The first one will be the 3rd Mon in Feb (i'm still looking at venues). The more the merrier so it'll be great if you come along!
