Hello Joe,
I have been in a cold wet country,
for the last four years, on and off,before that I was interstate. I have used probably four agents, in Frankston Seaford area (each coming with a recommendation,) and I would like to offer these suggestions
Ask the agent how much staff turnover they have.
Will you do business with the property manager or the assistant
Do ask what their rates are, negotiate with them
Ask what they do if there is a problem, how do they fix them, who does their repairs etc
How often do they go to the tribunal?
Do they charge for the privelege?
In Victoria, of you have a tenant with social security deposit, you MUST go to court to get money back..... (I learnt this the hard way)
Will they give you copy of the lease before the tenant signs it?
