Sound proof windows choice help

Hi,

I am considering put sound proof windows to my PPoR.

I found some old related post but they are very old post. Not sure still available.

Basically I want to add a secondary window to existing window.

Any recommendation for company or tradesman?

I heard some bad news about
magnetite.com.au‎
stopnoise.com.au

BTW. The remain reveal is about 7cm. But the total width of windows frame if about 15cm
Any advice? Thanks.

Cheers.

Interesting that you heard bad news about magnetite - any chance you could summarise (or link to the article etc?). We were considering using them about a year ago but held off - I'd be interested to hear your feedback.

I heard magnetite is hard to open once installed. Also not value for money considering it's price.
Correct me if I am wrong. :)

Oh no, I couldn't say if it's correct or otherwise, as we didn't go ahead with buying from them (or anyone else for that matter) - I was just interested as to what the problems were. Thanks for the detail :)

The only thing I will say is that price wise, they did compare favourably to traditional double glazing. But other than that, as I said, can't comment.

Hi there,

We have used soundblock (www.soundblock.com.au) and had no problems at all.
The windows fit well, have a good finish and their service is professional.
In terms of noise reduction & temperature insulation it does wonders.
Very happy with the end result.
I cannot remember how competitive their pricing was though, but worth giving them a call to check.
