Study of Historical Data

Hi,

I am putting together a list of historical Median House Prices going back to 1988 in Melbourne and was wondering if anyone has already such information in excel format?

If not, perhaps some experianced investors can suggest what information is best studied/attained from such a report to ensure best use of it, when looking for best permforming capital growth suburbs?

I have a feeling that finding the average capital growth over 20 yrs is enough and that i should be looking also at other results to get the best picture of where to invest?

Thanks all in advance!

S.W.I.S I have from Victorian Valuer General, here:

Belu:) reincarnated the link, so it is from 1997-2008 data.

Plus, an older thread that has some contrasting thoughts/opinions on this particular data.

Plus I have an interesting paper ONLY article, with older stats and comments (from Bernard Salt/Richard Wakelin/Rob Burgess), I think you would be interested in, I will PM you.

That would be fantastic to have some even older historical data to compliment the relatively newer stuff, it's not what I base my investing on, but it is of great interest to me.
