Sydney Homes - Brick, Fibro or Perm-----

I am hoping for some help on this issue.....

I have been looking at a number of Sydney properties and some suburbs with a lot of 70's and 80's houses have a lot of homes that are not brick of fibro but a plastic type substance which is apparently in between. I think I may have got the name wrong but think it is called Permeatate (or something along those lines).

I was traditionally looking for brick houses for less headache however if it is going to be cheaper and tenants are happy to live in this type of property I may look at these but had some specific questions I would like to research such as:
- is it hot/cold?
- easy to maintain (just wash - no painting!)
- damage from sun? insects? rain? etc

Thanks in advance

A mate of mine has his PPOR in this material.
Was there last summer... the heat inside was insane all I wanted to do was leave and run to the beach! It was a hot day, I'll give you that! But still.
He his however happy with the place, so maybe that's not an issue.
