Yeah, I've got to say that I've never been charged extra for roaming, just my usual small plan, and I've done some traveling with it. In fact, last year we went from Sydney to Adelaide, through the centre then down central Qld, back to Melbourne before heading back to Sydney.

You get charged more for roaming if you use the internet in that time, so basically unless you're just calling/texting you can't use the phone. Because most aps (iPhone) will also use internet.
